Pulling blocks is all in a day’s work

Here are some screen shots of me accelerating a block along a frictionless surface to demonstrate how forces accelerate objects.  The coloured blocks are snap-shots of the position of the wooden block at one second intervals.  We can use these to show the change in position of the block over time and therefore observe the acceleration of the block.

If you look closely you will see the Newton balance attached to the block which we use to measure the force on the block.
